Biography

Sara Bourre was born in Paris and read modern literature and philosophy at the Sorbonne while also studying theater and dance-theater. She has published poetry in a number of reviews and regularly performs on stage with musicians in projects that bring together text, sound, and visual material. Written as part of her Master’s degree in creative writing from University of Paris VIII, her first novel, Maman, la nuit (Notablia, 2023), forms a long prose poem at the heart of a chaotic mother-daughter bond that is strained to the point of breaking.
