Biography

Heli Allik was born in 1973 in Tallinn, Estonia. She is a translator and the director of the review Tõlkija hääl (The Translator’s Voice). She has produced Estonian versions of works by a number of writers, including Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Mathias Énard, Michel Houellebecq, and Jonathan Littell, and has written numerous critical articles. She is a member of the board of the Translators’ Section of the Estonian Writers’ Union, and was named a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of France in 2023.
