Biography

Ève Guerra is a French writer whose roots go back to both the Congo and Italy. She grew up in the Republic of Congo, which she fled at the age of nine during the civil war that raged in the country from 1998 to 1999. Today she teaches Latin, ancient Greek and French, works as a columnist for the French literary magazine Lire, and has published a collection of poetry. Awarded the Prix Goncourt du premier roman and the Prix Transfuge du meilleur premier roman français, her novel Rapatriement (Grasset, 2024) is the history of a family, an inquiry that goes from uprooting to mourning, childhood wounds to secrets and lies.
